If something is false or untrue, with exposure to the truth it can be discredited and fall to the wayside. Just look at all the democratic narratives being destroyed on a daily basis. Only truths that destroy the lies would need to be hidden, ie censored. The mind is an amazing thing, when disseminating information when all views are present, it can discern fact from fiction, but when facts are hidden or not present then your perception and understanding will be limited. This is how propaganda and censorship works to influence people's ideas.
