Oregon's population doesn't vote left, there is actuary a lot of decent, right-leaning folks in eastern Oregon. I should know, I grew up in Oregon.
The problem, here, is the same as the problem in many states. Leftists swarm like cockroaches to urban centers. Portland, LA, NYC, etc. They are in such numbers that they overwhelm the system and, essentially, ensure that nobody living outside of the major cities has a voice.
