Oregon senator for Coos County David Brock Smith rules the Coos County Republican party with an iron fist. He has along with his acolyte Brainard closed down the party to any new members, even going so far as to shut down Republican meetings without voting in any precinct people with only 48 of 198 positions filled.

David Brock Smith also endorsed democratic incumbents to the SWOCC school board, who are protecting a convicted pedophile teacher working with local high school age students in GED classes, over qualified Republican candidates.
