Oregon State Representative, Lucetta Elmer, Republican, "Because of ongoing gridlock in Washington, SNAP benefits for more than 750,000 Oregonians could be delayed in November. This isn’t a decision made by the President — it’s the result of congressional leaders refusing to come to the table and pass a budget.

Here in Oregon, state leadership continues to push back against federal efforts that could bring more stability and accountability to programs like SNAP. Instead of working collaboratively to implement reforms, there’s been more resistance than results — and Oregon families are left to bear the impact.

Even once funding resumes, Oregonians will face stricter federal rules — including new work requirements for able-bodied adults. These are federal mandates Oregon must now carry out, but the focus should be on partnership, not politics.

It’s reasonable to expect able-bodied adults to work or volunteer a few hours each week. What’s unreasonable is leadership refusing to work together while families across our state face the consequences." https://truthsocial.com/@Laura3125/115414753356658127
