Because the democrats have curated a subculture where for the price of swearing fealty to their loathsome political party, the meritless individual sad sack losers get to claim associate membership in Club Elite. Being a democrat is so embedded in their otherwise mediocre, unaccomplished self identities that even the slightest criticism of another democrat is perceived as a personal attack on themselves, and they reflexively lash out without thinking. This hive-minded mentality among democrats is praised and encouraged by virtually every other democrat, leading to behavior such as the outpouring of hateful , malevolent vitriol from the “tolerant left” over Charlie Kirk’s very public assassination.
