"When Did Teaching Stop Being About Teaching?

Randi Weingarten, head of the nation’s largest teachers union, is not just a union leader, she’s an LGBTQ activist with an agenda. Along with her wife, she’s gone so far as to write a book claiming that most American parents are “fascists.” And she calls your children “our” students, insisting that the state and the union know better than moms and dads.

But let’s be clear: not all teachers agree with her. I know this firsthand, my wife is a teacher, and so are several of my family members. They want what most parents want: to get back to teaching the basics. Reading. Writing. Math. Science. Preparing kids for life, not pushing a political or social agenda.

Parents should never be treated as enemies. Teachers should never be forced to follow an activist playbook. And students deserve an education rooted in truth, excellence, and opportunity, not ideology.
