“The Emigrant Fire outside Oakridge, Oregon saw a whirlwind of ever changing conditions over the last 48 hours. Crews went from chasing spot fires to driving through sleet and snow.
Lines are in place and 1/3+ of the fire’s edge has yet to burn down to those control lines. The nearly 32,000 acre fire will be slowed by the weather that has come in, but at 0% containment, there is still a lot of work to do. Crews continue with snag removal, lining spot fires, and catching new starts from lightning in the area.
