Diesel other than carbon which is beneficial to the environment are some of the most efficient and clean engines produced. More efficient and clean than gasoline and much more efficient and clean than what goes into electric/ battery powered. All the toxic elements and manufacture processes going into electric vehicles greatly out weigh the emissions of conventional combustion engines. And with transport vehicles 40% or more of the hauling capacity will be taken up with batteries to haul the products.
