This graph is telling. Mill production may have doubled but now there are 1/5th the number of mills as in the 90s. Overall production has gone down and concentrate into a few hands. We went from no Forrest fires from the 1950s through the 80s then heavy regulations came in killing jobs with limited harvesting and maintenance undergrowth increased trees get old and start dieing greatly increasing fire risks and increasing devastation of our forests by these fires.
