A proposed bill that would require every Oregon county election office to livestream its vote tabulation processes could improve trust in the state’s elections, its proponents say.
But officials who’d have to implement the bill, which was introduced by a Republican senator, say it would be costly and logistically difficult.
First part true, second false. All it would take is a $20 camera and to live stream it on X or Facebook or even set up a dedicated website. Cheap and logistically simple. And cameras on the ballot boxes would limit ballot stuffing/ ballot harvesting practices and would be even more effective once vote by mail is eliminated. Combined with paper ballots voter ID one day voting and proper verification most and the worst fraud can be eliminated.
